Nicole Ari Parker is an American film TV and stage actress who is known for her role as the fierce lawyer Teri Joseph in the Showtime series Soul Food. Following her marriage to her husband, she was referred to for her role as Nikki Kodjoe. Since childhood, Nikki Kodjoe was a natural actor. She received her degree in acting at New York University after working in the Washington Ballet Company' and in theatre. Born to Mumbai, India and raised in Nigeria from the age of seven. Contractor was well-versed in the world and an array of civilizations at an extremely young age. At the University of Toronto she completed an MA in Theatre, and was also a double major in sociology and psychology. Following a semester at the University, Contractor went to an audition on a call-to-action basis for the play Pericles at the world-class famous, world-class Stratford Shakespeare Festival [Ontario, Canada and landed the lead role. After 92 performances, she received praise from the audience. This play was named the top production by Canadian reviewers. Contractor accepted the offer to take part in Stratford's Conservatory course. There are only eight males and four females accepted for a 20-week intensive course in the classical theatre. Contractor was guaranteed a spot for the upcoming season of plays and landed the part in the role of Hermia In A Midsummer Night's Dream.
